SA Horse 2010 will bring together the best minds in equine exercise physiology to share their knowledge and the latest developments in this and related fields, with the South African audience.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for equine enthusiast and professionals that should not to be missed.

World renowned experts are coming together in November 2010 in South Africa for a international congress in Cape Town (ICEEP 2010 – www.iceep.org), and has kindly agreed to give some of their time to make SA HORSE 2010 happen.

During SA HORSE 2010 horse enthusiast and professionals will be able to attend a variety of session, in a conference taylor made for different interest groups. There will also be exhibitions and other activities for visitors to enjoy.  SA HORSE 2010 will take place on 4-5 November 2010 at Turffontein. On Saturday, 6 November, Phumelela will put on a race day - this would be the first time in many years that Arabian flat racing will take place in South Africa. Phumelela’s Charity Mile November Handicap is a glorious event that brings together top racehorses and famous people in aid of charity.

Organizations that have elected to participate in the satellite days so far, are the South African Equestrian Federation (Sanef), Erasa (the Endurance Ride Association of South Africa), SAEVA (the South African Equine Veterinary Association), APGSA (Animal Physiotherapy Group of South Africa) and SAFA (South African Farriers Association). We are still in negotiations with some other organizations with an equine interest.

Phumelela, the racing body responsible for Turffontein racecourse, have agreed to allow other forms of entertainment to take place on these days to make these three days really exciting!

The Turffontein room will be the hub where Exhibitors can display varying “equine-related” products.
On Saturday afternoon Phumelela will put on a race day. This would be a first time in many years that Arabian flat racing will take place in South Africa.
Gillian Higgins (a professional therapist from the UK, www.horsesinsideout.com) will draw crowds with her demonstrations called “The Painted Horse” In this talk she explains to the laymen where varying anatomical structures are in the horse. She does this using a live horse. This show is currently receiving rave reviews in the UK.

A lot more activities and demonstrations are being planned to entertain the horse loving public.
